We work hard at TyphoonTools to provide you with an array of tools to make managing your digital life a whole lot simpler. We currently have 9 applications available for download, each of them tailored for a specific purpose to make management of your digital life easier.
But wait, what is a “digital life?”
Your digital life consists of all the irreplaceable data you store on your computer – family photos, home videos, important financial data, critical work documents, music collections, and much more. So much of what defines you as a person is stored in a single location… your computer. We at TyphoonTools make it our priority to provide you with the assets to help you with all things related to managing your digital life. In doing so, we’ve identified the associated problems with keeping track of all your important data. And come up with some rather crafty solutions.
Accesibility
One issue that many of us deal with every day is accessibility of our files. For most of us, our digital lives are spread out across several computers, not to mention the USB drives, network drives, and DVDs. Wouldn’t it be great if you had a “special” drive, a drive that was accessible from anywhere with an internet connection? Well that’s where TyphoonDrive comes in. This tool creates a network drive on your computer that behaves just like any other drive, except that files stored here are actually being stored safely in the cloud. Since your data is stored online, in the cloud, your files are accessible both through the software and any web browser.
Safety
In addition to accessibility, the most important issue is the safety and security of your files. This means having reliable means of backing up your data. Our answer to this is TyphoonBackup, one of our three premium tools. TyphoonBackup makes backing up your files as easy as right-clicking a file in Windows Explorer and selecting “Backup.” It’s easy to use and will run in the background so you can rest easy knowing that your data is safe in the cloud.
So, what exactly is “the cloud?”
The cloud refers to a network made up of hundreds of servers spread out geographically over the entire world, rather than in a single data center. The important thing is that it is located off-site, making it the most reliable means of backing up data. This is because every file stored in the cloud is replicated multiple times on multiple servers. The cloud offers great convenience because it is totally accessible through the internet. Because the cloud is a network of hundreds of machines, it is not limited by conventional data limitations and can grow and expand as needed. It is a fact that storing data in the cloud is more effective than storing it on a local physical drive. Every physical drive will eventually fail, it’s just a matter of when. The Amazon S3 cloud has been designed to provide 99.999999999% durability over a given year. To read more about Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) click here.
Sharing Files
Sending and receiving files is a critical part of our lives, both at home and work. Sometimes sharing files is harder than it needs to be though. How many times have you tried to attach a file to an email only to find out that it’s too large? Have you ever sent an important file to a coworker only to be left wondering if they ever received it? TyphoonUpload solves these problems and more. This convenient tool is by far the best way to send files to friends, family, and coworkers. Not only does it send large files, but TyphoonUpload will manage email addresses and groups, allow you to create direct links to your downloads, and create dropbox pages – with TyphoonUpload receiving large files is easy too!
