Why TyphoonPassword?

TyphoonPassword is a convenient program that helps you organize and secure your login information for web sites and windows applications. Good, strong passwords are crucial for your security on the internet. If you are using the same password for all your online accounts you have a security problem, but it is impractical to remember strong passwords for each website account you have. TyphoonPassword helps you keep your passwords organized and secure and features easy entry and recall of password information. Works with multiple logins and for Internet Explorer as well as Firefox browsers.

Using TyphoonPassword

You can open the TyphoonPassword interface by either clicking the “Passwords…” option in the TyphoonTools system tray or by selecting the TyphoonPassword icon in the TyphoonDesktop launch bar. Using TyphoonPassword is as easy as cut and paste. Once you have entered your login information into TyphoonPassword it will pop up a Reminder Window when you visit a website that is on your list.

Login Information
This is a list of your user IDs and passwords for various web sites. Once you enter the login info here, a Reminder Window will pop up in the bottom-right corner of your screen whenever you visit that web site. Typhoon Password also works with other Windows applications as well as web sites viewed in a browser.

Add
Click this button to add a new item to the list. You can then enter information into the fields in the bottom half of the interface. In the ‘Account’ field, enter a name for the account that will help you distinguish it from others, this can be anything you like. You may enter a more detailed description if you choose in the ‘Description’ field. Then enter your User ID and Password for the particular login. If you enter a URL in the ‘Web Page’ field, a Password Reminder Window will pop up whenever you visit the listed URL.

Security
Click this button to protect your Typhoon Password list with a Master Password. When you choose to use a Master Password your password file will be encrypted. NOTE that if you use this option be sure to remember you Master Password as it cannot be recovered once encrypted. It may be a good idea to provide an additional hint for the master password.

Other Actions
Selecting Remove will delete the currently selected account information. Selecting Duplicate will create a copy of the currently selecting account details. The Web Page button will take you to the website listed in the selected accounts Web Page field. Export allows you to save the current password file. Import allows you to load a password file.
