All files backed up using TyphoonBackup are stored on your TyphoonDrive. This means that they’re safe and secure in the Amazon cloud servers, replicated many times on dozens of servers spread out geographically all over the world. Saving data in this way is hundreds of times more reliable than saving to an external hard drive and means that your data is virtually indestructible.
With all your data being backed up to the cloud, your data is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection. Recover backed up data either through the TyphoonBackup software or through the Manage Account area of the TyphoonTools website.
With the Live Backups option, TyphoonBackup will watch for new files and back them up as they’re created, or backup old files as you make changes to them.
TyphoonBackup is fully integrated with Windows, making backing up a file as easy as right-clicking a file in Windows Explorer and selecting “Backup.”
Set a specific backup schedule that works for you. TyphoonBackup will scan your backed up files and folders for new or changed files and back up only what is needed. Have the software back up your data during the night, or while you’re away at work, whatever fits with your schedule; the backup schedule is up to you.
TyphoonBackup can be set up in a just a couple minutes after installing and you never have to bother with it again. Set your files to be backed up, a schedule, and other options right in the initial Setup Wizard and rest easy knowing TyphoonBackup will do the rest! Of course, at anytime you can return to the interface to adjust any settings or configuration you wish to adjust.
TyphoonBackup features the powerful Shadow Copy option, allowing you to backup files while they’re open, while you’re working on them as well as “locked” files, system, and configuration files which are normally a problem for backup software.
Enter any extension you wish into the Exclusion Wildcard field to exclude a certain type of file from any and all backups. Don’t want your temp files backed up? No problem, simply enter the .tmp extension into the Exclusion Wildcard field and TyphoonBackup will take care of the rest.
TyphoonBackup gives you the option of how many versions, or copies of a backed up file you would like to keep backed up at all times. This is great for backing up files that you often work on and gives you options of multiple variants of the same file to recover when restoring a file.
TyphoonBackup’s advanced settings gives you complete control over how many copies you’d like to keep, the age of those copies, and how long you’d like to keep files you’ve deleted locally. TyphoonBackup’s Automatic Cleanup option will go through your backed up files using these filters and delete what’s expired, ensuring your backups are always organized.
Recovering your backed up files is easy as browsing your TyphoonDrive, the location all your data is being backed up to. Since you can browse your TyphoonDrive in Windows Explorer, all you have to do is right-click the file or folder you need, and click “Recover.”
